Langtang shares the border with Tibet in the north. The lifestyle, culture, and traditions of the region mostly resemble that of Tibet with Shamanistic roots endemic to age-old Bon-Po tradition. The indigenous Tamang and Sherpa tribes are the major inhabitants of the region with Buddhism being their predominant religion. Langtang Valley Trek takes you in a mystical and cultural journey into the ancient trans-Himalayan trade center of Nepal.

The 10-days trip begins at Kathmandu.  A 7 hour drive northwest of Kathmandu takes you through the spiraling hills to Sybrubensi village in Rasuwa district. The trek commences from the hills and advances deep into the mountains. The trail ascends through the Tamang villages of Lama Hotel, Mundu and Langtang village before resting at Kyanjin Gompa. Unlike other villages, Kyanjin is mostly occupied by Sherpa inhabitants. You will get to witness the oldest Buddhist monastery at Kyanjin and climb the local Kyanjin Ri peak before descending back to Syabrubensi. The local peaks including Langtang Lirung (7227m), Langtang Ri (7205m), Tserko Ri (4984m) and Yala Peak (5,550m) are clearly visible from the top. Most of the trail lies inside Langtang National Park, the first Himalayan national park of Nepal. The pristine park is home to the exotic wildlife including Himalayan black bear, Himalayan Thar, Rhesus monkey, and Red Panda. Langtang Valley Trek is suitable for trekkers of any age and experience.
