Champa Devi

Champa Devi, one of the short day hike destinations, located south of Kathmandu valley at an altitude of 2250 meters. above sea level.  The trail gives you a panoramic view of the whole Kathmandu Valley – Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur districts, also have a beautiful view of Kirtipur and Pharping village.

The Bagmati river, Taudaha lake, Kirtipur, Pharping and Dakshinkali temple are the main Hindu and Buddhist sites. The trail is also used by locals visiting the religious sites in the area including the Champa devi temple at the top of the hill. This trip gives an opportunity to experience the culture and tradition of the local people. 

With good weather one can have a panoramic view of the himalayan ranges such as Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung, Annapurna, Gaurishankar and Mt. Everest too.

ITINERARY:

  • At 8:00 am. – Meet your guide at the hotel and drive from Kathmandu for about an hour to the Hattiban Resort, which is 20 kilometers south of Kathmandu. Short rest and start hiking, pass through the pine forest, and also have a chance to see a 180 degree view of the Kathmandu Valley. The trail goes steeply uphill for about 2-3 hours until to Champa Devi temple, situated at an altitude of 2250 meters above sea level.
  • Approx. 5 hrs. walk 
  • Hike Start & end at the Hattiban Resort 
  • 15.00 hr. drive back to Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel.

 

 

 

Remarks: 

Don’t forget hiking shoes, sunglasses, a light jacket and a camera.
