Located to the east of the Annapurna Base Camp Trek, one of the most fabled trekking destinations of Nepal, the Mardi Himal Trek is a hidden treasure. Clumping along beautiful windy paths and walking past mesmerizing rhododendron forest, trekkers march towards the Mardi Himal Base Camp emplaced at the base of Mardi Himal and iconic mountain, Machhapuchhre (6997m). The trail gives an outstanding view of Annapurna South(7019m), Hiunchuli (6441m), Mardi Himal (5587m), and Machhapuchhre (6997m). A short trek in Annapurna region, Mardi Himal Trek offers the pleasure of experiencing the tradition and culture of villages on the way along with free-flowing rivers, wide open forests, and extraordinary views of mountain peaks.
Our trip starts from Kathmandu Valley. After a long drive from the capital, you’ll reach the beautiful lake city of Pokhara. A short drive of one hour from Pokhara will take you to Kande. Ascending towards the Australian Camp and slightly moving down towards Pothana, you’ll march towards the village of Deurali. A steep climb on the top of the ridge after crossing thick forest paves the way to the Forest Camp. The trail gives you the stunning view of Machhapuchhre (6997m), Annapurna South(7019m) and Hiunchuli(6441m) as we move towards Low Camp crossing various up hills, rivers, and terraced farms. The trail passes through Chhomrong and proceeds to Ghandruk. Walking along the greenery and colorful rhododendron forest, you’ll reach this Gurung village with welcoming ambiance and mesmerizing Himalayan views. From here, you ascend to High Camp and then to Upper View which will take a solid walk of 4 to 5 hours and return back to High Camp. You will now march down to Siding Village via Low Camp and gradually descend to Pokhara. Sublime view of mountain peaks, magnificent rivers, narrow farmlands, and widely spread jungles will make your hike worth remembering. March to May and October to December are the best time to trek to Mardi Himal Base Camp.

Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu (1300m)
You may arrive at the Tribhuvan International Airport at any time. Upon your arrival, you’ll be greeted by company team member and transferred to your hotel directly. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 02: Drive to Pokhara (820m)
Early in the morning, we’ll start our journey to Pokhara. After a solid six hour ride which will take you through hills of western Nepal along with Trishuli River on the edge, you’ll finally reach your destination. Once at Pokhara, proper relax and preparation for the next day’s trek would be an ideal choice. You can even experience the nightlife of the beautiful lake-side city. Overnight stay at a hotel in Pokhara.
Day 03: Drive to Kande, trek to Forest Camp (2,500m)
After breakfast, with the blue sky looming over, you’ll reach Kande riding along Pokhara Baglung highway. It’s a short ride of one hour from Pokhara. Now, our trek begins. The trail goes through the rhododendron forest to the mountain pass and reaches Australian Camp from where you can witness the splendid view of stunning revealed Annapurna Range, Mardi Himal (5587m), Machhapuchhre (6997m), and Hiunchuli (6441m). Upon arriving the beautiful settlement of Deurali along with Modi Khola walking past Pothana, a steep climb on the top of ridge paves the way towards Forest Camp (2500m). Overnight stay at a hotel.
Day 04: Trek to Low Camp (2,970m)
Crossing various terraced farms, up hills, beautiful rivers, and green forests, we now march towards Low Camp. The view of Mardi Himal(5587m) and Mt. Fishtail(6997m) appears much closer. Clear blue sky along the path with the layer of Himalayan foothills and appealing valley towards south will make your 3 hours hike a pleasant one. Once at Low Camp, you can even hike for an hour to Badal Danda for the better view. Overnight stay at Low Camp.
Day 05: Trek to High Camp (3,550m)
After breakfast, we now hike towards High Camp from Badal Danda leaving the tree line. Walking past the villages of Chhomrong and Ghandruk, blooming rhododendron forest greets us with the fitting views of Hiunchuli(6441m) and Mt. Fishtail(6997m). We now arrive closer to the alpine zone.Now, you’ll ascent towards Fishtail Base Camp Valley which paves the way to High Camp. Located at an altitude of 3550m, it is a small pasture in itself. Overnight stay at High Camp.
Day 06: Hike up to Upper View Point (4,500m), back to High Camp
Early in the morning enjoying the beautiful sunrise, the hike of around seven hours towards Mardi Himal Base Camp(4500m) begins. The trail passes through uneven rocky steps as we leave grassland and move towards high mountains along with lust vegetation. Along the way, glorious views of Mardi Himal(5587m), Mt. Fishtail(6997m),Annapurna I (8091m), Gangapurna (7454m) and Annapurna III (7555m) form a Himalayan panorama. After witnessing a stunning view of mountain peaks from the upper viewpoint, you can now march down to High Camp. Overnight stay at High Camp.
Day 07: Trek to Siding Village (1,750m)
Following the same trail, you will trek down to Siding Village via Low Camp. Walking past pine and rhododendron forest through Chhomrong and Badal Danda, the settlement of Siding with the abundance of Gurung culture welcomes you with open arms. The mesmerizing view of Mardi Himal (5587m), Mt. Fishtail (6997m), Annapurna I (8091m), Gangapurna (7455m) and many more along with terraced farmlands, wildlife, and lush vegetation makes up for a pleasant walk. Overnight stay at Siding.
Day 08: Siding Village to Pokhara
From Siding, you’ll drop down to Lwang village, which is a thick Gurung settlement with unique culture and tradition. The trail passes to Lumle and proceeds to Kande. Observing the Nepalese lifestyle and enjoying the organic food along the way, a walk to Kande village will be worth remembering. From there, a short ride of one hour will take you to Pokhara. Once at Pokhara, you can experience the night life and roam around lake-side if you have enough time. Overnight stay at a hotel in Pokhara.
Day 09: Drive to Kathmandu
You now bid farewell to the Himalayas after an adventures trek. You’ll ride mostly through Brahmin and Chhetri village along with Seti valley crossing Modi Khola near Damauli. You’ll pass the Marsayangdi hydroelectric project along with the town of Mugling, at the conjunction of the Marsayangdi and Trishuli rivers. The road starts to climb up and finally you’ll complete the journey back to Nepalese capital. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 10: Departure to International Airport
First thing in the morning, we’ll drop you off at Tribhuvan International Airport so that you can catch your scheduled flight back home. You’ll be dropped off two hours early and you can even share the experience of your adventurous trek with us on the way.
