Overview

Tibet ‘the rooftop of the world’ remains one of the most interesting, mystical and spiritual countries of the world, situated at an average elevation of 16,500 ft. above sea level. Opened to the outsiders until in recent years, facilities for tourists are gradually improving. Its attraction is so strong that it has become a must visit obsession for people worldwide. A trip to Tibet is not for the faint hearted because the traveling can be hard, adventurous and often unpredictable because of its rugged and high elevated landscape. So for those high altitude problems (sickness) travelers and those with a history of heart, lung or anemia problems should consult a doctor and inform the travel agent in Nepal before considering a visit. Traveling overland between Kathmandu and Tibet is an incredible journey in which you can see not only the world’s highest plateau but also some of the magnificent Himalayan Ranges – so this is a wonderful and amazing trip. Visitors should also understand before taking this trip that Tibet was only opened to tourists since the mid-eighties. However, if you are only for a bit of adventure that can be specially arranged.
