Island Peak was the name given to the mountain in 1952 by Eric Shipton's party who thought it to be reminiscent of an island in a sea of ice. It is also known by it's Nepali name of Imja Tse. Island Peak is an extension of Lhotse Shar, and is located between the Lhotse and Imja glaciers, standing at 6,189m/20,305ft.
We ascend by the standard route and although the summit can be reached in one day from base camp, we make use of a high camp. The final ridge is a classic of it's kind and from the summit fabulous views can be enjoyed of many Himalayan giants including the immense south face of Lhotse and the huge peak of Ama Dablam.

Day 01: Upon arrival, meet and transfer to Hotel
Day 02: Kathmandu - Preparation day.
Day 03: Early morning fly to Lukla 2840m and start trek to Phakding 2652m.
Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazar 3446m.
Day 05: Rest at Namche Bazar for acclimatization
Day 06: Trek to Tangboche 3867m.
Day 07: Trek to Pheriche 4200m.
Day 08: Pherich 4200m.- rest for acclimatization.
Day 09: Trek to Labuche 4930m.
Day 10: Trek to Gorakshep 5165
Day 11: Trek to Dingbuche 4300m.
Day 12: Trek to Chhukung 4743m.
Day 13: Trek to Island Peak Base Camp 5087m.
Day 14: Base Camp to High Camp and back to Base Camp
Day 15: Base Camp to High Camp
Day 16: High Camp to Summit Island Peak 6160m. back to Base camp.
Day 17: Reserve Day
Day 18: Trek to Tengboche
Day 19: Trek to Monjo
Day 20: Trek to Lukla
Day 21: Fly Lukla /Kathmandu
Day 22: Kathmandu spare day.
Day 23: Kathmandu
Day 24: Transfer to airport for final departure.
